Deb Roybal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Care Ethics and an Associate of the Center for Ethics and Leadership in the Health Professions. She holds memberships in the National Catholic Bioethics Center and the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, and she is an active board member of the Colorado Healthcare Ethics Forum (CHEF). Ms. Roybal has been with Regis University since 2007 and currently teaches applied healthcare ethics courses in undergraduate and graduate health professions programs in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions.
Ms. Roybal is a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in a broad range of nursing disciplines including obstetrics. In the hospital setting she has held leadership and management positions in quality and risk, service line management, and clinical education. She has worked with hospital ethics committees since 2006. Her current research interests include organizational ethics, obstetric and neonatal ethics, and ethical decision-making in complex clinical situations. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Service Leadership with planned completion in late 2013.
